Ghana Politics & Security

The discovery of significant offshore oil reserves has excited the whole of Ghana as well as those neighbouring countries which share a similar geology. Ghana will soon enter a new era as an oil exporter but it is keen to avoid the mistakes that have turned neighbouring Nigeria into a byword for corruption, mismanagement, and ethnic tension.

Despite this, however, Ghana's main political parties are already embroiled in corruption allegations as they fight for control of what will become the country's most important source of revenue.

The weekly Ghana Politics & Security, which is written in-country, provides expert analysis on both current and forthcoming issues. It covers domestic politics, foreign affairs, and the economy, and concentrates on those issues that are likely to affect international oil companies and other foreign investors.
